Jumhuri Mudara: Friedrich Merz, who may become Germany's chancellor in the future, has stated that the future German government will stop the program for accepting migrants from Afghanistan.
Deutsche Welle News Agency reported that Mr. Merz said yesterday (Sunday, March 9) that Germany "will end the voluntary admission program (for migrants), for example, from Afghanistan."
He also emphasized that the future German government will not launch any new programs for accepting refugees.
He stated that he has reached an agreement with potential partners of the future German government on imposing strict limitations on migrant admissions.
Merz also mentioned that from the very first day of the future coalition government’s work, extensive border controls will be implemented.
The discussion about stopping migrant admissions and deporting illegal migrants is taking place while Afghan citizens have been responsible for several attacks in various German cities.
Following these attacks, Germany has begun deporting criminal migrants to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, and the country’s likely future prime minister has also promised to immediately deport criminal migrants.
