Jumhuri Mudara: The world food program (WFP) on (Friday May 10, 2024) issued a statement on Twitter and says that 3 million children suffered to malnutrition and also added that they only can care one child out of three.

Meanwhile, most of children are working due to lack of breadwinner, poor family economy and rising unemployment rates, and provide their families with basic living expenses.

Hamida, one of the hundreds child labored, has to walk along distance for hours and by smoking Esfand earn money to support her family.

She says, that she is eleven years old and smokes Esfand with her younger sister and earns between 50 and 100 Afghani in a day. She has studied until third grade and as the economic situation of her family got worse, she left school. She adds that if her economic situation gets better, she wishes to go back to school and become a doctor in the future.

Before the Taliban's rule, my father was shoemaker and now he is unemployed. I have to work and earn expenses for my family." another child worker said.

She says due to bad economic situation, she couldn't go to school. And also, they say with amount of money we cannot provide our basic life need.

Reducing humanitarian aid also has a direct impact on the lives of those in need, leading to a worsening of living condition of those in need especially children, and exposing them to further harm such as malnutrition.

More than four months ago, the united nation development office (UNDP) said that after the Taliban regained power, 85 percent of Afghans live on less than a dollar a day of consumption.
