Jumhuri Mudara: The Department of Education of Daikundi has announced the activation of a well-equipped library in a girls' school in the village of Mish Salafi in this province.
The Directorate of Education has described the establishment of this library as an effective step towards promoting the culture of reading, improving the quality of education, and facilitating students access to educational resources in this region.
This library has been fully funded by the Shuhada Foundation and funded by HCS (Help Committee Schaffhausen / Afghanistan Hilfe) in Switzerland.
In this project, more than 600 scientific, literary, and cultural books have been purchased and provided to the school along with essential equipment such as desks, chairs, computers, bookshelves, and other office supplies to provide a suitable study space.
According to the information provided, more than 1,000 books were previously available in the library of this school, which remained practically unused due to the lack of administrative facilities . Equipping the library has now made it possible to effectively exploit these resources.
In the opening ceremony of this library, the director of urban education of the Department of Education, representatives of the Shuhada Institute, members of the school council, parents of the students and elders of the village were present, and while appreciating the support of the Shuhada Institute and the Help Committee Schaffhausen Institute, they called the vital role of such cultural activities in the scientific empowerment of the students effective.
The girl’s school in the village of Mish Salafi was built seven years ago with the financial support of the Help Committee Schaffhausen Foundation and by the Shuhada Foundation.
Two years after its establishment, for the first time, a two-year English language course was launched for 50 female students of this school, but following the fall of the republic and the closure of educational centers by the Taliban, this training course remained incomplete.
Earlier, the Shuhada Foundation, with the financial support of Help Committee Schaffhausen, had activated a health service center in this village, which has been providing basic medical services to the residents of this village and neighboring villages for more than ten years.
It is worth mentioning that over the past 36 years, the Shuhada Foundation, with the financial support of Help Committee Schaffhausen, has implemented more than hundreds of public benefit projects in various provinces of Afghanistan, especially in the central regions, in the fields of health, education, alternative livelihoods, access to drinking water, support for women and orphaned children, as well as urgent food assistance.
