Jumhuri Mudara: Taliban have shut down two English language educational centers in Daikundi and arrested several of their teachers, accusing them of violating the laws of the the Taliban.

Sources from Khadir, Daikundi province reported that yesterday (Sunday, January 23), the Taliban detained the director and the two instructors of the Afuq Naw educational center in the Korga area.

According to these sources, Sayed Habib, the director of the Afuq Naw educational center, along with two other instructors, Abdul Razzaq Taqipour and Asif Rahesh, are currently imprisoned in the Taliban’s intelligence detention center in Khadir.

Additionally, the sources state that the Taliban also arrested 4 female instructors of this educational center. However, they were later released after guarantees were provided.

Reports indicate that the Taliban members confiscated equipment and computers from the Afuq Naw educational center. They justified the arrests by claiming that teaching English language and promoting non-Islamic culture were the reasons.

Similarly, 3 instructors from the GRS Educational center in Sangtakht-Bander district have also been arrested and imprisoned by the Taliban.

According to informed sources, Asad Halimi, Mahdi Farzad, and Jamaluddin Peyman, 3 instructors of the GRS educational center, have been in the Taliban`s jail since yesterday.

Efforts by local elders and residents to secure their release have so far been unsuccessful.

Furthermore, the Taliban have recently closed educational centers for girls in several provinces. Previously, they had also banned schools, universities, and health institutions for women and girls.
